Dedications: Reggie ScanlanThirty years of maintaining a band is no easy matter and certainly impossible without a host of people helping out behind the scenes. Trying to extract the names of everyone who should be thanked from a creaking, self-deleting mental hard drive is proving to be a bit of a struggle. So, a heartfelt apology and " thank you " to all who have contributed but are not mentioned here. A huge " thank you " to the following people : D'Addario & Company Inc. , Peter D'Addario, and Bob Miller for strings, straps, tuners, and assorted odds and ends. Albey Balgochian and " A " Basses for the killer basses, endless hospitality, countless hours of bass philosophy, and treasured friendship. Modulus Guitars and Anderson Page for " over and above " support and setting a benchmark for a level of helping musicians that most companies will never meet. Tacoma Guitars and Julian Henslee for the only acoustic electric bass that sounds like a bass. St. Blues Guitars, Brian Halley, and Hal Henkel for a beautiful bass that sounds even better than it looks. WWOZ and Black Mold for years of playing our music and letting me bore listeners with road stories when they could have been listening to more tunes. Bass Player Magazine and Greg Olwell for giving me several opportunities to air my opinions and show off some of my basses in the process. Shannon Chabaud and Jan Bateman, our trusty ( and sometimes frazzled ) accountants, for endlessly improving on the " loaves and fishes " miracle. Ken Samuels our soundman, production man, and sometimes miracle man who's been with us long enough to be as crazy as we are. Josh Abelson, tour manager and major domo, without whom we would all be wondering " where are we supposed to be now ? ". Phil Frank and Shane McWilliams, our tireless road crew, who, regardless of bad weather, bad roads, or brokedown trucks, always have us up and running by showtime. Gary " the Bear " Phillips, Eric, Jared, Ray-Moan, Rocky, Nesto, Johnny and the dozen or so other roadies that have done time on the Ryder truck. The Krewes : M.O.M.s, D.A.D.s, Grey Lady, Playa, Empire Zeke, and all the rest for the amazing gigs and timely help in some cases. Tipitina's, Dream Palace, and Luigi's for giving us a place to conduct our early laboratory experiments without the use of safety gear. Michael Caplan and Epic Records who gave us a boost we sorely needed and the opportunity to expand our fan base enough to keep us working ( what record sales ?! ). Barney Kilpatrick ( and Rattlesby Records ) who has always been ready to help out in whatever capacity was needed ( producer, adviser, DJ, trumpet blower, friend ) even when our appreciation level dipped. The Agency Group and Seth Rappaport, our tireless agent, who manages to come up with enough gigs to keep us from working behind the counter of our local 7-11. David Rae Morris, Bob Compton, Howard White, Dave Steuber, Bruce Polonsky and all of the photographers who have burned film and filled memory cards in the pursuit of a visual history of the band. Eric Vandercar, Jon Hart, and all of the tapers who have documented and distributed the music through the years. John Ross for attending to the website. Paul Toracinta for pulling us into the new world by designing our first ( and without a doubt, best ) website. Dave Margulies for early Heat Generation support. Kingsley and Lisa Stoken, host and hostess with the mostest, for way too much to list here. Jon Richter and NUGs.com for putting it out there. Jay Rosenberg ( did I spell the name right ? ) for juggling our rekkid company. No band, regardless of how good it is, can survive for long without the continued support of an appreciative fanbase. The Radiators has been lucky enough to have, perhaps, one of the most loyal and dedicated group of fans that any band could wish for. Some have been around since day one. Some are more recent. Space prevents the naming of everyone. So, with apologies to those not mentioned, but with many thanks to one and all...Alice and Mike Anderson,Todd Baker, Mark Berner, Bill Boelens, Karl and Chris Bremer, Kenny Crockett, Dr. Dom Curatola, Fatty Rick, Felix, Flavorman, Scotty G., Jessica Grossman, Jackie and the Mermaids, J.T., Lynn, Dana and Phil Manniatty, Mr. Big Mickey Marshall, Jay Mazza, Gayla Owen, Doug Peters, Perk, Scotty and Marie-Ange, John Swenson, Tori, Doug and Mark Trager, Corey Walsh, Young Neil, and all of the rest...see you down the road. |
